Our Club is Located on Some of the Most Beautiful Shoreline in Connecticut

To the south, we are bounded by a deep harbor and the gentle waters of the Long Island Sound. To the north, the rolling greens of our nine-hole golf course greet you before you drive around to the front door of our Clubhouse.

The course is punctuated by stands of white birch and cedar, and on the far side of the course, a family of fox are often in residence in the Spring, while rabbits, hawks and squirrels are often spotted along the tree line.

Our Director of Agronomy, Shannon Slevin, is striving to create a healthy environment by reducing and eliminating toxic turf chemicals and insecticides since the Club's property both abuts and includes the sensitive shoreline salt marsh ecosystems.

We are an Inter-generational Family Club

We offer athletics and social events for men, women and children all season long. From golf, tennis, swimming and sailing to bridge, fashion shows and dinner dances, everyone finds countless ways to participate and interact with the greater family of the Club. Our facility is open from early March through January 1st, closed in January and February. Many members travel to Florida or California for the winter months, returning in May or June when the season here really starts hopping. There is a guest policy which allows members to share experiences with non-members - and many of our guests are soon counted among the membership to become part of the greater family of the Pine Orchard Club.

New Members are Recommended by Current Members

We are a private club and bring in new members who are known to the membership: family, co-workers, social acquaintances and neighbors. Many people have already visited the Club as guests for dinner, playing tennis or being the "guest" in a member-guest golf tournament before applying for membership. Others get to know our facility by attending a private event sponsored by a member - a wedding in our charming Ballroom, a tournament on our golf course, a business lunch conference in our spacious Dining Room.

Our Facility is Available for Private Events

Current members sponsor private events for non-members.

Many people have fond memories of their wedding reception, office party, club meeting and birthdays held in our beautiful Ballroom and catered with the exceptional food of our Executive Chef, Scott Roth.

Our golf course is regularly used by local groups sponsoring an event, and meals are usually a part of the package. If a golf tournament piques your interest, you can also contact our Golf Professional, Joe Starzec, for dates.

Tennis tournaments are also gaining in popularity, and our Tennis Pro, Mike McManus, can help you find a date to host your own Tennis Social here at the Club.

A Tradition Since 1901

The Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club was founded by Alden Young at the turn of the last century to provide athletic activities for the summering crowd who regularly escaped the heat of the cities every summer to find respite on the Connecticut shoreline.
